The Library Is Always Free

By Linnea the Librarian May 23, 2016

The second day after school gets out, and your children already say they’re bored. “There’s nothing to do!” Do we have the answer for you!

Hennepin County Library has 41 locations, including buildings in Plymouth, Golden Valley and St. Louis Park. Every library has many free programs and activities to encourage kids to keep reading and learning over the summer months to prevent learning loss while school is out. Whether you sign your child up for a book club, a hands-on science or art program, a LEGO Lab or one of the many other free opportunities, you will have yet another reason to check out books during your visit. The library also has free DVDs, audiobooks and CDs good for road trips or a cool indoor distraction on a hot and humid afternoon. Many library locations also have fun indoor spaces to play for toddlers and preschoolers, too. Come check out your local library!
