Happy {almost} 4th of July! Next Thursday, we will gather with friends and family to celebrate our independence as a nation. It has become a tradition to spend the day outside, in the beautiful Minnesota summer weather, BBQing and playing games. In the evening, we grab our lawn chairs and blankets, pack the kiddos in the car and head out to see a spectacular fireworks display. If you're thinking of skipping the fireworks this year and planning on sticking close to home, check out a few of these fun activities to celebrate the day.
- Set-up a photo booth in the backyard with red, white and blue streamers. Pick-up fun photo booth props, or go DIY style with these cute free printable props.
- Host a flag hunt in the yard by hiding mini flags all around the yard. Push them into the ground under trees, bushes, flowers and behind rocks or boulders. Whoever finds the most flags in the fastest time wins!
- Use sidewalk chalk or paint to decorate the driveway in patriotic stars.
- Switch up burgers and brats with yummy Grilled Salmon Kebobs. Marinate cubes of salmon in a mouthwatering mixture of fresh rosemary, savory spices and lemon juice. Then enjoy a smooth, flaky inside wrapped around a crispy, grilled outside.

Parent & Tot Swim Time - Head to the Aquatic Park for a special swim time session with a special section of the pool reserved for you and your tot. Tuesdays all summer.
Sunset Series: Concerts in the Park - Visit the Hopkins Downtown Park for a free concert in the park. Tonight's entertainment provided by Hornucopia -- a band that pays tribute to a variety of bands and artists that feature horn sections. Come see a unique and unforgettable evening of music for all ages. June 28
