You invited friends and family over for the 4th – sounded like a great idea at the time, right? Now it’s crunch time and all hands are on deck! Here’s a few last minute entertaining ideas we found on Pinterest that can save you time and take your party to the next level.

Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwiches

These patriotic ice cream sandwiches are a quick and easy dessert. Just dip store-bought ice cream sandwiches in red, white and blue sprinkles and you have a fun frozen treat.

Side Dish: Cowboy Caviar

One of my favorite sides is Cowboy Caviar. It’s so easy and simple to make -- a definite crowd pleaser. Just mix a can of black eyed peas (or black beans work great too), a can of southwestern or fire roasted corn, a can of tomatoes, 1-2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro, 1 package of Italian dressing mix and a squeeze of lime. Use a hearty tortilla chip for scooping. Enjoy!

Main Dish: Chicken & Tomato Kebobs

Kebobs make grilling easy! You can buy already chopped veggies and meat the grocery store to save time. Pile up on a bamboo skewer and pop it on the grill. Try alternating chicken and tomatoes seasoned with a little chipped basil, garlic salt and pepper.

Decor: Free Printables

Free pintables can amp up the décor and ambiance for your party. This collection we found on Pinterest includes a cute compilation of cupcake toppers, party signs, water bottle labels, straw flags and banners.

Decor: Potato Stamp Table Cloth

Liven up the picnic table using potato stamps! Use a knife or star shaped metal cookie cutter to create your shape, dip star into fabric paint and stamp away.

Tic-Tac-Toe Lawn Game

Lawn games are always fun during BBQs with friends and family. Make a DIY tic-tac-toe lawn game using whatever you have lying around the house. Game pieces could be wooden Xs and Os, painted rocks or Frisbees. The “board” can be made using yarn, painters tape on the grass, paint, etc. Add a patriotic twist by incorporating red, white and blue where you can and you have an easy, 4th of July themed outdoor game anyone can play.
