Happy National Raspberry Day

National Raspberry Cake Day

Today is National Raspberry Cake Day! It's the perfect day to celebrate one of summer's sweetest and most delicious berries. Raspberries are known as "nature's candy" as they are so sweet, they are irresistible. These little berries also pack a punch for your health with their antioxidant power! Some researchers and nutritionists believe that raspberries can also protect the eye from sun damage, decrease risk of diabetes, heart disease, promote a healthy complexion, increase energy, decrease risk of certain cancers and lower your weight. Bonus!

To make the most of National Raspberry Cake Day, we suggest the following...

  1. Head to one of our local Farmers Markets or visit a raspberry farm (we found the closest farm to be the Bauer Berry Farm in Champlin) and pick fresh raspberries for your cake.
  2. Add raspberries to your favorite cake mix -- they go great with lemon, white, yellow, chocolate -- just about any flavor! Love baking cake from scratch? Just toss them into your favorite cake recipe.
  3. Bake, frost and enjoy your Raspberry Cake with friends and family!
