Welcome to the 2018 Minnesota Renaissance Festival

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is celebrating its 48th Season

Come and be a part of this long-standing tradition by visiting the festival grounds in Shakopee, MN. Experience the magic of our Realm at the 2018 Minnesota Renaissance Festival as we celebrate our 48th season! Journey back in time and enter a world entirely its own when you visit our fantasy kingdom. We truly have something for everyone with seven different theme weekends occurring throughout the Festival!

King Henry and his court invite one and all to his 16th Century European village featuring 16 stages of live entertainment and much more. Over 250 artisans fill the Festival marketplace to display and sell their handcrafted wares for a truly unique shopping experience. There are also daily jousts, children’s craft areas and delicious food and drinks!

Cost: Admission at the gate: Adults $24.95; Children 5 – 12 $15.95; seniors $22.95; children four and under are free! Discount tickets are also available at participating Menards, Super America, and Cub. Coupons to use towards admission are available at participating Subway and DQ locations. Where: The Festival is located seven miles south of Shakopee on Highway 169. Festival patrons can enjoy 16 stages of live entertainment, 250 artisan vendors and 7 theme weekends, full combat jousting and food fit for a king!


FREE Family Friendly Activities

  • Fairy Wing Forest
    Venture into the shaded garden that has been transformed and filled with fairies, pixies, nymphs, and other magical creatures that now call the forest their home.
  • Mermaid Cove
    Watch as they dive, flip, and twirl majestically in the water! If you’re lucky, they may share a token of their magic with you.
  • Children’s Costume Contest
    Lads and lassies can compete in a Renaissance Costume Contest. Children 12 & under are welcome to participate in this fun daily event for prizes!
  • Grand March Parade
    Watch the Royal Court and other Festival Entertainers joyously greet all Festival Goers in this daily parade at 11:30am!
  • Children’s Knighting Ceremony
    Children can receive the highest badge of honor by being knighted by the King and his Royal Court! Held daily at 3:30pm on the King’s Arbor Stage.
  • Irish Cottage
    Cooking demos, stories, and music from 9:00am – 12:00pm.
  • Herpetological House
    Immerse yourself in the wonders of reptiles! These slithering creatures aren’t so scary after all. Visit the Herpetological House for a close-up and in person looks at these super cool creatures.
  • Joust
    Watch live armored jousting every day at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 4:00pm on the Joust Track!
  • Maypole
    Maypole dancing is a form of folk dance from Germany, England and Sweden. Come relive the traditional ribbon dance celebrating the seasons!
  • Throne of Swords
    Experience the infamous Throne of Swords! Be on the look out for dragons!
  • Meet the King & Queen
    Relive history and meet King Henry and Queen Elizabeth at the Festival!
  • Experience Palace Garden
    Join us in the Palace Garden 3-times daily for our Song & Story Adventures! Sing along with the Prince & Princesses and listen to stories of Fairies, Knights & Dragons. Enjoyable for all ages.
  • Juggling School
    Learn how to be a juggling master at the Juggling School!
  • Albion the Unicorn
    Our beloved mascot, Albion is always ready to play. Catch her exploring the realm, entertaining, dancing, prancing, hugging and charming the crowd!
  • Cock A Doodle Zoo
    Hug a Kangaroo, pet an African Porcupine or hand feed a grape to a Ringtail Lemur in our one of a kind Exotic Petting Zoo. Kangaroos, Porcupines & Lemurs OH HUZZAH!
  • Wishing Well
    Drop a coin and make your dreams come true! We are proud partners with the Angel Foundation to support families with cancer.
  • Viking Encampment
    Explore the rich Scandinavian history of the Vikings. Learn about their lives through Norse sagas, songs, games, and weapons demos to find your inner Viking. Skol!

    Follow the trail of pixie dust to the Children’s Realm so your child can make a magical Fairy Wand with fairy friends!
